Couple of Crumbs

Hi! Welcome to our little blog, run by two old friends who just want to have a place to write... anything we please. Thanks for stopping by!

Funfetti is trying to defy the evils of writer's block one project at a time.

Red Velvet is a quirky little cupcake trying to channel her inner writer.

Throwback Thursday: Mini Funfetti

Red Velvet is in need of something funny & light this week. (She’s a little under the weather.) So she decided to entertain herself with one of my journal revisits from WAY back (sweet of her, really!)… Hope you enjoy Mini Funfetti!

This week, I was going for lighthearted. Nothing says lighthearted like journals from when you were 12, right? Ha. Or so I thought. First of all, I was always boy crazy. Second, while I love my inner geek… some people were really mean to me! And third, I had a fun frenemie thing going on with a girl named Kristen (yes, that’s her real name) who once told me I needed to get my face slapped for being so rude. Um, thanks? (Ask anyone, I was always way nicer to her than anyone else!) Another funny thing: I started my countdowns for Christmas early back then too. Some things just never change. Get excited for some kiddie-Funfetti moments…

P.S. Only 4 days left to enter our giveaway! Check it out!

The Day after Monday!

Greetings all! Can you believe we are NINE days away from Thanksgiving? And more importantly, THREE days away from the release of The Deathly Hallows, Part 1? (Red Velvet and I are both going to see it this Saturday, look for our thoughts on it next week!) This can’t be said enough this year – the days are flying!

Anyway, here we are at Tuesday again. With some fantastic news. In the past few days, we’ve gotten almost 400 more followers and we are completely thrilled! So we wanted to take a few seconds and explain our blog for those of you who are just joining us.

More than six months ago, Red Velvet and I decided we needed to do something creative or we might keel over. So we decided to embark on a writing project. At first, we thought we would each write a blog every week, along with one joint entry. After three months, we shook things up a bit. We unveiled our first series – which means we wrote about one topic for an entire month (since then, we have had four others!). We added in Thursday3, disclosing odd facts about each other. As every week passed, RV and I were writing more and more. (Want more details? Check out our site recipe.) Basically, we just want to write! And we are… all the time!

RV and I picked out a few of our favorite entries for you to check out:

Now back to Tuesday! As you all probably know, it’s Tumblr Tuesday. If you love what we are writing and look forward to it each week, we would love if you would recommend our blog as your favorite. We are much appreciative!

Most importantly, RV and I like to think of ourselves as ambassadors of a great little show on the CW Network called “Life Unexpected”. Every week you can live tweet with Red Velvet here (and this week, Shiri [Cate] and Britt [Lux] are also live tweeting here), and then we whip up some reviews on Thursday. Make sure you tag all of your tweets with #lifeunexpected at the end of them! Here’s a little snippet of what to expect this week (from The CW):

Baze and Emma attempt to sign a high-profile client, Candy (guest star Krista Allen), who only has eyes for Baze. Lux goes to her homecoming dance hoping to see Eric but the evening takes an ugly turn for the worse. Cate explores Lux’s past and is shocked at what she discovers.

Please try to check out the episode!

I think that’s it for now! Thanks for reading! We’d love to hear from you. Message us, join our Facebook group, send us a tweet, or leave us a comment below! Cheers!

Somewhere Exciting.

By: Funfetti

“Let me wake up in the morning to find I have somewhere exciting to go.”

It’s a great quote, isn’t it? I heard it the first time during a college performance of A Chorus Line and it stuck with me. Funnily enough, I couldn’t even remember the song it was from when remnants of the lyrics popped into my head today. It’s been a long time since I’ve thought of it as a whole. Every day, I am pretty much feeling something similar (this week I told RV how I really wanted to be a killer whale so I could be swimming around all day… that’s how extreme it is). “IT” being the fact that I am no longer happy at my job and so ready to move on, I’m wearing roller skates.

(A Friendship) Through the Years

By: Red Velvet

It seems like every time I log onto Facebook these days, someone new is announcing their engagement or unveiling their “married” status.  I’m nowhere near that point but I do like to think about it.  What my wedding would be like, my dream dress, who’s going to be in my bridal party.  Especially the latter.  I remember growing up, knowing exactly who was going to be my Maid of Honor.  No question about it - it was going to be my oldest friend, who I’ve known since I was 7 years old.

Now?  My answer to that question is different.  Yes, she’s still my friend but the Maid of Honor is supposed to be the person that knows you best.  And when I hung out with her this past weekend for the first time in 3 months, it got me thinking about why she isn’t that person anymore.
