Couple of Crumbs

Hi! Welcome to our little blog, run by two old friends who just want to have a place to write... anything we please. Thanks for stopping by!

Funfetti is trying to defy the evils of writer's block one project at a time.

Red Velvet is a quirky little cupcake trying to channel her inner writer.

Guest Post Galore

Because we so love the gals who have written blogs on Couple of Crumbs, we wanted to feature them today just in case you’ve missed them! While these ladies are all so wonderfully different, they are also also honest, thorough, and talented writers. (As well as strong women!) We hope you enjoy their thoughts and styles as much as we do!

S’more is a chocolate loving cupcake who dreams of becoming a high school English teacher. She’ll read anything with a YA (Young Adult) stamp on it and loves everything having to do with Disney. She sometimes finds it hard to balance her adult life with her adolescent interests, but prefers to swing it as merely being “young at heart.”

Lemon Drop is the kind of cupcake who “feels it all,” as the artist Feist would say. Whether its a tv show, song, or a beautiful piece of writing, she loves seeing true honesty in all forms. She is married to her best friend and has a fun, yet stubborn little girl. She has taken the opportunity to stay at home with her daughter, which requires her to find a balance between personal time and her responsibilities around her home. She has a passion for cooking with natural, whole foods and dreams of one day opening a whole food cafe where she can share her joy of being healthy and happy.

Maple Bacon is a 20-something New Jerseyan dropped awkwardly in Indianapolis. She’s crazy about pugs, her chef husband, and all things inappropriate. When Maple Bacon isn’t consuming delicious cupcakes, she can be found blogging as kjpugs at Ordinary in Indiana.

Sharing the love…

It’s Thursday everyone! Yayy! Red Velvet & I just wanted to share two fun reads with you this morning. They are in perfect rhythm with our current series, XOXO. Hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day (if you so choose to celebrate it)!

It’s that time of the week again - Tumblr Tuesday! If you enjoy our entries, please recommend us as your favorite blog. As always, we appreciate your recommendations, comments, tweets and likes!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this past week:

TV Show Time Machine: My So-Called Life

By: Red Velvet

Rayanne: Haven’t you ever waited for anything?
Rickie: Yeah, for my life to start.

I started watching My So-Called Life after it had been cancelled and MTV started playing reruns all the time.  I didn’t even see the series from the beginning.  The first episode I saw was “Self-Esteem” (Episode 12) and by the end of it, my teen self swooned and cheered when Jordan held Angela’s hand in the hallway in front of everyone.  (Iconic TV moment if you ask me!) The point is, it didn’t take me long to care about these characters. They were so real and honest and unlike any other depiction of high school at the time.  From the moment I watched, it left an impression on me.

Let’s rewind back a bit.
